Maintenance is an ongoing phase of care, not a guarantee that your appetite or habits will stay unchanged. Plan your lifestyle support and medication follow-up with your healthcare team before reaching your goal.
Define success beyond a target
What do you want to keep doing comfortably? What would adequate energy, regular nourishment and sustainable strength training look like? A useful maintenance plan includes these answers as well as an appropriate weight range discussed with your clinician.
Make room for appetite to change
If hunger returns, observe the pattern without treating it as a personal failure. Meal timing, adequacy of intake, sleep and stress may be worth discussing. Your prescriber should review questions about the medication itself.
Practice the habits you intend to keep
Build routines that work on busy weeks, while traveling and at restaurants. Maintenance asks for repetition and adaptation, not a promise that you will never have an unexpected week.
Medication decisions need a medical plan
Do not stop or taper treatment based on a website or a goal-weight milestone. Discuss ongoing treatment, monitoring and risks with your prescribing clinician. Coaching does not promise medication discontinuation or freedom from regain.
Keep a way to notice and respond
Agree on meaningful measures and a follow-up plan. If strength, energy, appetite or weight changes concern you, know who you will contact. Support can help you respond earlier and more calmly.
